أكدت إدارة السير في مديرية الأمن العام أن مسافة التوقف للمركبات تزداد بشكل كبير أثناء تساقط الأمطار، وقد تصل إلى الضعف مقارنة بالأجواء الجافة، حتى في حال كانت الفرامل بحالة ممتازة.

وأوضحت أن القيادة بسرعة عالية مع وجود مياه على الطريق تتطلب مسافة أطول بكثير للتوقف الآمن، داعية السائقين إلى تخفيف السرعة وترك مسافة أمان كافية، تجنبًا للحوادث والانزلاقات خلال الظروف الجوية الماطرة.
