رفعت بريطانيا العقوبات عن الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع الجمعة، بعد أن اتخذ مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة قرارا مماثلا قبيل اجتماع الشرع مع الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب يوم الاثنين المقبل.

وأعلنت بريطانيا في نفس البيان رفع العقوبات عن وزير الداخلية السوري أنس خطاب.

وكان الاثنان خاضعين سابقا لعقوبات مالية استهدفت تنظيمي "داعش والقاعدة".
