قتل 7 أشخاص على الأقل وأصيب نحو 150، في زلزال بقوة 6.3 درجة هز مدينة مزار الشريف شمالي أفغانستان في ساعة مبكرة من صباح الإثنين.

وقالت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأميركية إن الزلزال كان على عمق 28 كيلومترا قرب مزار الشريف التي يبلغ عدد سكانها نحو 523 ألف نسمة.

وقال سميم جوياندا المتحدث باسم إدارة الصحة في سمنكان، وهي مقاطعة جبلية شمالية قرب مزار الشريف، لـ"رويترز": "تم الإبلاغ حتى صباح الإثنين عن إصابة 150 شخصا وسقوط 7 قتلى".

وأصدرت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأميركية تحذيرا باللون البرتقالي في نظامها المعروف باسم (بيجر)، وهو نظام آلي يصدر معلومات عن تأثير الزلازل، مشيرة إلى أن "من المرجح وقوع خسائر بشرية كبيرة، وأن الكارثة قد تكون واسعة النطاق".
