أعلن الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الأحد أنه يدرس مجموعة واسعة من الخيارات العسكرية المتعلقة نيجيريا، وذلك بعد تهديده بالتدخل لحماية المسيحيين في أكبر دولة إفريقية من حيث عدد السكان.

وفي رد على سؤال لمراسل وكالة فرانس برس على متن الطائرة الرئاسية عما إذا كان يفكر في إرسال قوات برية إلى نيجيريا أو شن غارات جوية، أجاب ترامب "هذا ممكن، أعني، هناك الكثير من الخيارات (...) في تصوري هناك الكثير منها. وأضاف "إنهم يقتلون المسيحيين، ويقتلونهم بأعداد كبيرة. لن نسمح بحدوث ذلك
