دعت الأمم المتحدة الجمعة واشنطن الى وقف الضربات التي تشنّها على قوارب في منطقة البحر الكاريبي وشرق المحيط الهادئ للاشتباه بأنها تهرّب المخدرات، ومنع عمليات القتل خارج نطاق القضاء.

وقال المفوض السامي لحقوق الإنسان فولكر تورك "هذه الهجمات، وما يترتب عليها من خسائر بشرية متزايدة، أمر غير مقبول. يجب على الولايات المتحدة وقف هذه الهجمات واتخاذ كل التدابير اللازمة لمنع الإعدامات خارج نطاق القضاء بحق الأشخاص على متن هذه القوارب مهما كان السلوك الإجرامي المنسوب إليهم".
