أعلن وزير الجيش الإسرائيلي يسرائيل كاتس الاثنين، رفع حالة الطوارئ في البلدات الجنوبية القريبة من قطاع غزة، للمرة الأولى منذ هجوم حركة حماس في السابع من تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2023.

وقال كاتس في بيان صادر عن مكتبه: "قررت تبني توصية الجيش الإسرائيلي ورفع حالة الطوارئ الخاصة بالجبهة الداخلية، وذلك للمرة الأولى منذ السابع من (تشرين الأول) /أكتوبر" 2023.

وبحسب البيان فإن القرار "يعكس الواقع الأمني الجديد في جنوب البلاد"، كما يأتي في وقت يتواصل فيه سريان اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار الذي دخل حيز التنفيذ في العاشر من تشرين الأول/أكتوبر الحالي.
