أعلنت وزارة العدل عن تنفيذ 276 عقوبة مجتمعية بديلة عن الحبس خلال شهر أيلول من عام.

وتأتي هذه الخطوة في إطار استراتيجية حكومية تهدف إلى إصلاح نظام العدالة ومنح المحكومين، خاصة مرتكبي الجرائم لأول مرة، فرصة لإعادة تأهيلهم ودمجهم في المجتمع دون انقطاع عن مصادر رزقهم.

وكان وزير العدل الدكتور بسام التلهوني اكد في وقت سابق، أن هذه الخطوة تتماشى مع التزامات الحكومة بتوسيع تطبيق العقوبات البديلة، بما يتوافق مع المعايير الدولية لحقوق الإنسان.
