وصف وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو يوم الأربعاء رئيس كولومبيا غوستافو بيترو بـ"المجنون"، على خلفية التوترات إثر الضربة الأمريكية التي أسفرت عن مقتل أشخاص على متن زورق يُشتبه في تهريبه للمخدرات.

وقال روبيو للصحفيين: "أعتقد أن السلطات الكولومبية، سواء في الجيش أو الشرطة، ما زالت مؤيدة لأمريكا. المشكلة الوحيدة في كولومبيا هي رئيس مجنون".

وأضاف الوزير، المعروف بمعارضته لليسار في أمريكا اللاتينية: "هذا الرجل مجنون – مجنون! – وليس بخير".
