أعلن الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الأربعاء أنّ نظيره الصيني شي جينبينغ الذي سيلتقيه الأسبوع المقبل في كوريا الجنوبية يمكن أن يكون له "تأثير كبير" على الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين للتوصّل إلى تسوية للنزاع في أوكرانيا.

وقال ترامب للصحافيين في البيت الأبيض لدى استقباله الأمين العام لحلف شمال الأطلسي مارك روته "أظنّ أنّه يمكن أن يكون له تأثير كبير على بوتين".

وأضاف "أعتقد أنّ بإمكانه ممارسة تأثير كبير، وبالتأكيد سنبحث ملف روسيا وأوكرانيا" في الاجتماع المقرّر على هامش قمة منتدى التعاون الاقتصادي لآسيا والمحيط الهادئ (أبيك) في كوريا الجنوبية.
