رفعت الحكومة البريطانية، الثلاثاء، اسم هيئة تحرير الشام، من قائمة المنظمات الإرهابية المحظورة.

وحظرت بريطانيا الهيئة، التي كانت تابعة لتنظيم القاعدة في السابق، وصنفتها منظمة إرهابية في 2017.

وقالت الحكومة البريطانية في كانون الأول الماضي إنها قد تعيد النظر في قرار الحظر، بينما ألغت إدارة الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب تصنيف هيئة تحرير الشام منظمة إرهابية أجنبية في تموز.

وانضمت بريطانيا إلى دول أخرى في الترحيب بنهاية حكم بشار الأسد، والتي مثلت إحدى أكبر نقاط التحول في الشرق الأوسط منذ عقود.

وذكرت الحكومة البريطانية في بيان أن رفع هيئة تحرير الشام من قائمة المنظمات المحظورة سيسمح بتعاون أوثق مع الحكومة السورية الجديدة.
