قالت وزارة التجارة الصينية، الثلاثاء، إنها أبلغت الولايات المتحدة بشأن ضوابط تصدير المعادن الأرضية النادرة التي أعلنتها بكين الأسبوع الماضي قبل فرضها، مضيفة أن الجانبين عقدا محادثات على مستوى الخبراء الاثنين.

وأكد بيان صادر عن متحدث باسم وزارة التجارة الصينية أن ضوابط التصدير التي فرضتها بكين تهدف إلى حماية الأمن القومي.

وأضاف البيان أن الولايات المتحدة لا يمكنها السعي لإجراء محادثات مع الصين مع توجيه تهديدات في الوقت نفسه، وذلك بعد أن أعلن الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب يوم الجمعة فرض رسوم جمركية إضافية على السلع الصينية اعتبارا من الأول من تشرين الثاني.
