أعلنت إسرائيل أنها أطلقت سراح 1968 معتقلا فلسطينيا الاثنين مقابل الإفراج عن آخر 20 رهينة أحياء كانت لا تزال حماس تحتجزهم في قطاع غزة.

وأشار بيان رسمي إلى أن سلطات السجون الإسرائيلية أفرجت عن المعتقلين، وفقا لاتفاق عودة الرهائن، في إطار وقف إطلاق النار الذي تم التوصل إليه بين إسرائيل وحماس.

ولفت البيان إلى أنه في المجموع تم الإفراج عن 1968 معتقلا من سجن عوفر (العسكري) إلى الضفة الغربية المحتلة والقدس المحتلة ومن سجن كتسيعوت إلى كرم أبو سالم، في إشارة إلى المعبر الواقع بين جنوب إسرائيل وقطاع غزة.
