اعتبرت حركة حماس أن الإفراج الاثنين عن نحو 2000 معتقل فلسطيني من السجون الإسرائيلية مقابل الرهائن الاسرائيليين في غزة، هو "إنجاز وطني" في مسيرة الشعب الفلسطيني.

وقالت الحركة في البيان "تبارك حركة حماس لأسرانا الأحرار، ولذويهم الصابرين، ولجماهير شعبنا الفلسطيني الأبي، إنجاز تحريرهم من سجون الاحتلال، الذي يُعدّ محطة وطنية مضيئة في مسيرة نضالنا المتواصل نحو الحرية والتحرير".
