وصل الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، الاثنين، إلى مطار بن غوريون في إسرائيل.

وتعدّ هذه أول زيارة لترامب إلى تل أبيب منذ إعادة انتخابه رئيسا.

ويلقي ترامب الاثنين خطابا أمام الكنيست الإسرائيلي، قبل توجهه إلى مصر ليترأس "قمة السلام" في مدينة شرم الشيخ، في الوقت الذي أطلقت فيه حماس سراح محتجزين إسرائيليين.

وقال ترامب للصحفيين على متن الطائرة الرئاسية في رد على سؤال عما إذا كان واثقا من انتهاء النزاع بين إسرائيل وحركة حماس، "الحرب انتهت. حسنا؟ هل فهمتم ذلك"، معربا عن ثقته بأن وقف إطلاق النار "سيصمد".

وقبيل إقلاع طائرته من قاعدة أندروز الجوية قرب واشنطن، وصف ترامب رحلته إلى الشرق الأوسط بأنها ستكون "مميزة جدا".
