قالت وزيرة الخارجية البريطانية، إيفيت كوبر، بأنه "لا توجد خطط" لإرسال قوات بريطانية لتكون جزءاً من قوة متعددة الجنسيات لمراقبة وقف إطلاق النار في غزة من إسرائيل.

وأضافت كوبر في مقابلة مع هيئة بي بي سي البريطانية الجمعة، أن المملكة المتحدة ستواصل دعم عملية السلام بطرق أخرى، بما في ذلك النظر في جذب تمويل خاص لإعادة الإعمار في غزة.

وأكدت الوزيرة البريطانية، أن المملكة المتحدة ساهمت في الوصول إلى هذه المرحلة من عملية السلام، مشددة على ضرورة تكاتف المجتمع الدولي لجعل السلام "واقعاً ملموساً وتحقيقه على الأرض ".
