أمرت قاضية فدرالية أميركية الخميس بتعليق تنفيذ قرار الرئيس دونالد ترامب بنشر الحرس الوطني في شيكاغو وجوارها، معتبرة أنّ الوضع في هذه المدينة الكبيرة بولاية إيلينوي (وسط غرب) لا يرقى إلى مستوى خطر حدوث "تمرّد"، وهو السبب الذي تذرّعت به الإدارة لتبرير قرارها، بحسب ما أفادت وسائل إعلام محلية.

ونقلت وسائل الإعلام عن القاضية أبريل بيري قولها في معرض تعليلها أسباب قرارها "لم أجد أيّ دليل جدير بالثقة على وجود خطر تمرّد في ولاية إيلينوي"، معتبرة مبرّرات مسؤولي وزارة الأمن الداخلي "غير جديرة بالثقة" ومحذّرة من أنّ نشر قوات عسكرية في شيكاغو "لن يؤدّي سوى إلى تأجيج الوضع الذي أشعلته جهة الدفاع نفسها" أي إدارة ترامب.
