قالت الممثلة العليا للاتحاد الأوروبي للشؤون الخارجية والسياسة الأمنية كايا كالاس، الاثنين، إن الاتحاد الأوروبي يرغب في المشاركة بالسلطة الانتقالية في غزة.

جاء ذلك خلال اجتماع مشترك بين الاتحاد الأوروبي ومجلس التعاون الخليجي في الكويت.

وقالت كالاس ردا على سؤال عما إذا كان الاتحاد راغبا في المشاركة في "مجلس السلام" الذي أعلن عنه الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، "نعم، نعتقد أن لأوروبا دورا كبيرا وعلينا أن نكون أيضا جزءا" منه.
