استقبل رئيس مجلس النواب أحمد الصفدي في مكتبه اليوم الأحد، رئيس بعثة اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر في عمان يان فريديز.

وثمن الصفدي جهود اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر، مشيدًا بدورها الإنساني الكبير وأهمية استمرار دعم الفئات المتضررة من النزاعات والحروب.

وقال الصفدي إن ما يتعرض له قطاع غزة من إبادة وحصار وتجويع يشكل انتهاكا صارخا للقانون الدولي الإنساني، ما يتطلب موقفا دوليا حازما لوقف الحرب.

بدوره تحدث رئيس بعثة اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر عن دور اللجنة في دعم الفئات المتضررة من النزاعات في المنطقة، مستعرضا مجالات عمل اللجنة في الأردن منذ عام 1967.

وأعرب فريديز عن التقدير الكبير لدور الأردن في تعزيز احترام القانون الدولي الإنساني، والعمليات اللوجستية الإقليمية التي تنطلق من عمان كمركز حيوي للمساعدات.
