شاركت الهيئة المستقلة للانتخاب، كمراقب دولي على الانتخابات البلدية الجورجية، ممثلة بمدير تكنولوجيا المعلومات محمود الزبن، ومدير الرقابة الداخلية سلطان القضاة.

وانطلقت الانتخابات البلدية في جورجيا صباح السبت، وتستمر حتى الساعة الثامنة مساءا، حيث بلغ عدد مراكز الاقتراع (3061) مركزا، موزعة في جميع أنحاء البلاد.

واطلع الفريق المشارك في الرقابة على هذه الانتخابات، على الأساليب التكنولوجية الحديثة المستخدمة في هذه الانتخابات، والتي شملت عملية الاقتراع والفرز إلكترونيا.

وكانت الهيئة المستقلة للانتخاب، قد تلقت دعوة رسمية من هيئة الانتخابات المركزية في جورجيا للمراقبة على هذه الانتخابات، نظرا لما تتمتع به الهيئة من سمعة طيبة وخبرة في هذا المجال.
