حريق هائل بمصفاة لشيفرون قرب لوس أنجلوس

تكافح فرق الإطفاء الأميركية النيران الهائلة في مصفاة تابعة لشركة شيفرون خارج مدينة لوس أنجلوس الأميركية مباشرة الليلة الماضية.

وأكد مكتب حاكم ولاية كاليفورنيا غافين نيوسوم، على منصة التواصل الاجتماعي "إكس"، أن الحريق الضخم اندلع في مصفاة الشركة في إل سيغوندو.

ولم ترد شركة شيفرون على الفور على طلب للتعليق. وامتنعت شرطة إل سيغوندو وإدارات الإطفاء عن التعليق.

ولم يتضح على الفور سبب اندلاع الحريق أو ما إذا كان أحد قد أصيب.

وقال مكتب نيوسوم إن "مكتبنا ينسق في الوقت الفعلي مع الوكالات المحلية ووكالات الولايات لحماية المنطقة المحيطة وضمان سلامة الجمهور".

وتقع إل سيغوندو، على بعد حوالي 24 كيلومترا جنوب مدينة لوس أنجلوس، وهي مدينة ساحلية في ولاية كاليفورنيا، تقع على بعد حوالي 1.6 كيلومتر جنوبي مطار لوس أنجلوس الدولي.
