اعتبرت وزيرة الخارجية البريطانية، إيفيت كوبر، أن منع إسرائيل دخول المواد الغذائية الأساسية والأدوية إلى قطاع غزة يمثل "عاراً أخلاقياً".

وشددت كوبر خلال كلمتها في المؤتمر السنوي لحزب العمال بمدينة ليفربول، على أن اعتراف بريطانيا بدولة فلسطين يجسد التزامها بحل الدولتين باعتباره السبيل الوحيد لتحقيق الأمن والسلام الدائم للفلسطينيين والإسرائيليين على حد سواء.

وأكدت أن "إقامة دولة فلسطينية حق غير قابل للتصرف للشعب الفلسطيني، مشيرة الى أن بريطانيا تعمل مع شركائها الدوليين لدفع الجهود نحو وقف إطلاق النار، وإرساء سلام عادل ودائم في المنطقة.
