تفقد وزير الإدارة المحلية المهندس وليد المصري، صباح اليوم السبت، مكب النفايات الصلبة في محافظة العقبة، واطلع على واقع العمل في الموقع والخدمات المقدمة فيه.

وأكد المصري خلال الجولة، أن الوزارة ستبحث مع سلطة منطقة العقبة الاقتصادية الخاصة إيجاد موقع بديل للمكب الحالي، بما يضمن تعزيز السلامة البيئية والصحية في المنطقة، وتحسين كفاءة إدارة النفايات الصلبة بما ينسجم مع الخطط الوطنية.

وشدد على أهمية إيجاد حلول مستدامة لمعالجة النفايات، تراعي متطلبات التنمية المحلية وتحافظ على البيئة البحرية والبرية في العقبة، باعتبارها وجهة سياحية واستثمارية.
