وضع رئيس الوزراء جعفر حسان حجر الأساس لمشروع محطة تزويد الصناعات في المنطقة الصناعية الجنوبية في العقبة بالغاز الطبيعي.

ويأتي هذا المشروع في إطار جهود الحكومة لتزويد المناطق الصناعية في المملكة بالغاز الطبيعي؛ بهدف دعم الصِّناعات الوطنيَّة وتعزيز تنافسيتها، وتمكينها من التوسُّع، وتقليل كلف الإنتاج عليها، وجلب الاستثمارات الجديدة للمناطق الصناعية، وذلك قُبيل ترؤسه لجلسة مجلس الوزراء في محافظة العقبة.
