وقع الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب يوم الخميس أمرا تنفيذيا قال إنه سيسمح لتيك توك بمواصلة العمل في الولايات المتحدة بطريقة تلبي مخاوف الأمن القومي التي حددها القانون.

وذكر نائب الرئيس جيه دي فانس أن قيمة الشركة الأميركية الجديدة ستبلغ حوالي 14 مليار دولار، كاشفا بذلك للمرة الأولى عن سعر للتطبيق الشهير لمقاطع الفيديو القصيرة.

وقال فانس للصحفيين في إحاطة بالمكتب البيضاوي "كانت هناك بعض المقاومة من الجانب الصيني، ولكن الشيء الأساسي الذي أردنا تحقيقه هو أننا أردنا إبقاء تيك توك يعمل، وأردنا أيضا التأكد من أننا نحمي خصوصية بيانات الأميركيين كما يقتضي القانون".

ووفق ترامب فإن الرئيس الرئيس الصيني شي جين بينغ وافق على صفقة مقترحة بوضع تطبيق تيك توك تحت الملكية الأميركية.

وأضاف: "لقد تحدثت مع الرئيس شي. أجرينا حديثا جيدا، وأخبرته بما نفعله، وقال لي أن نمضي قدما في ذلك".
