ضرب زلزال بقوة 6.2 درجات شمال غرب فنزويلا الأربعاء وشعر به سكان العاصمة كراكاس، لكن من دون أن ترد في الحال تقارير عن وقوع إصابات أو أضرار، بحسب ما أفادت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأميركية وسكان.

وقالت الهيئة إنّ مركز الزلزال يقع على عُمق 7.8 كيلومترات وعلى بُعد 24 كيلومترا من "ميني غراندي"، المدينة النفطية الواقعة في ولاية زوليا والتي تتميّز بكثافة سكّانية منخفضة، بينما أفاد مراسلو وكالة فرانس برس في كراكاس بأنّ الزلزال أدّى لاهتزاز مبان في العاصمة.
