التقى جلالة الملك عبدالله الثاني في نيويورك، اليوم الثلاثاء، الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع، بحضور سمو الأمير الحسين بن عبدالله الثاني ولي العهد.

وشدد جلالته، خلال اللقاء الذي عقد على هامش اجتماعات الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة بدورتها الثمانين، على دعم الأردن لجهود سوريا في الحفاظ على أمنها واستقرارها وسيادتها.

وأكد جلالته ضرورة تكثيف المساعي للتوصل إلى وقف الحرب على غزة والحد من الكارثة الإنسانية، ووقف التصعيد في الضفة الغربية.

وحضر اللقاء نائب رئيس الوزراء ووزير الخارجية وشؤون المغتربين أيمن الصفدي، ومدير مكتب جلالة الملك، المهندس علاء البطاينة.
