قال الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس، إن على حركة حماس تسليم السلاح للسلطة الفلسطينية، مؤكداً ضرورة وقف الاستيطان الإسرائيلي وسياسات الضم.

وأضاف عباس خلال تصريحات له، خلال مؤتمر تسوية القضية الفلسطينية بالوسائل السلمية وتنفيذ حلّ الدولتين في نيويورك، أن الفلسطينيين يرغبون في إقامة دولة فلسطينية غير مسلحة، مشدداً على أن السلمية هي الطريق الأمثل لتحقيق الحقوق.

كما أدان الرئيس عباس بشدة ما حدث في 7 أكتوبر، معبراً عن رفضه لأي أعمال عنف تؤثر على القضية الفلسطينية.
