أعفت سلطة منطقة العقبة الاقتصادية الخاصة وبالتعاون مع واحة آيلة، السياح من رسوم المغادرة وختم الجوازات بسبب دخولهم العقبة خلال 48 ساعة من لحظة الوصول إلى المملكة وذلك لتشجيع السياح لزيارة العقبة.

ونفذت السلطة هذه الخطوة لتبسيط الإجراءات أمام الزوار والسياح لتوفير تجربة أكثر سلاسة منذ لحظة وصولهم، بما يسهم في تعزيز مكانة العقبة كوجهة سياحية واستثمارية على المستويين الإقليمي والعالمي.

ويأتي هذا التعاون في إطار جهود تشجيع الاستثمار وتقديم التسهيلات للمشاريع السياحية الكبرى، وهو ما ينسجم مع الخطط الرامية إلى جعل العقبة بوابة الأردن البحرية وعاصمة سياحية واستثمارية مستدامة.
