وافق مجلس الامن الدولي الجمعة على إعادة فرض العقوبات على ايران بسبب برنامجها النووي، بعدما فعّلت ألمانيا وفرنسا وبريطانيا "آلية الزناد" المنصوص عليها في اتفاق 2015.

في أواخر آب/أغسطس، قامت الدول الأوروبية الثلاث المنضوية في الاتفاق، بتفعيل الآلية المعروفة باسم "سناب باك" وتتيح إعادة فرض العقوبات على إيران على خلفية عدم التزامها بنود الاتفاق الذي انسحبت الولايات المتحدة أحاديا منه عام 2018.
