سلمت سلطة إقليم البترا التنموي السياحي، بالتعاون مع جمعية "ميرسي كور"، أعمال إنشاء سد تجميعي في وادي المقر بسعة تخزينية تزيد على 3 آلاف متر مكعب.
وقالت السلطة في بيان اليوم الأربعاء، إن المشروع نُفذ من خلال مفوضية التنمية المستدامة ممثلة بمديرية تنمية الموارد الطبيعية، بمرافقة مديرية الأشغال العامة والدراسات الهندسية بهدف تعزيز البنية التحتية في المنطقة والحد من أخطار السيول الناجمة عن الفيضانات الوميضية، بما يسهم في حماية الأرواح والممتلكات ودعم إدارة الموارد المائية وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة.
وأضافت، إن المشروع يأتي في إطار مذكرة التفاهم الموقعة أخيرا، مع جمعية "ميرسي كور" ضمن مشروع رفع منعة واستجابة المجتمعات للتغيرات المناخية الذي يتضمن إنشاء عدد من السدود الكابحة في الأودية الرئيسية بوادي موسى لتعزيز قدرة المجتمع المحلي على مواجهة التحديات البيئية والمناخية.
