نشرت مجلة "غلوبال فايننس" قائمة الدول الأكثر فقرا في العالم.

وبحسب المجلة جاء ترتيب الدول الأكثر فقراً في العالم على الشكل التالي:

* جنوب السودان

– بوروندي

* جمهورية إفريقيا الوسطى

– اليمن

– موزمبيق

– مالاوي

* جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية

– الصومال

– ليبيريا.

* مدغشقر

وأشار التقرير إلى أنّ 3 دول أخرى هي سوريا وأفغانستان وإريتريا، كانت مرشحة بقوة لنيل "لقب" أفقر دولة، لكن عدم استقرارها السياسي وانتشار الصراعات فيها حال دون جمع بيانات دقيقة لتقييم وضعها الاقتصادي بشكل موثوق.
