استقبل الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع، وعقيلته لطيفة الدروبي، الجمعة، في قصر الشعب بدمشق، قائد القيادة المركزية الأميركية الأدميرال تشارلز برادلي كوبر، وعقيلته سوزان كوبر، إلى جانب المبعوث الخاص للولايات المتحدة إلى سوريا توماس باراك، بحضور عدد من الوزراء وكبار المسؤولين.

بحث اللقاء آفاق التعاون في المجالات السياسية والعسكرية، بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة ويرسخ مقومات الأمن والاستقرار في سوريا والمنطقة.

وعكس اللقاء الأجواء الإيجابية والحرص المشترك على تعزيز الشراكة الاستراتيجية، وتوسيع قنوات التواصل بين دمشق وواشنطن على مختلف المستويات.
