نفذت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي وجهاز الشاباك، عبر سلاح الجو، اليوم الثلاثاء، هجوما مُستهدفا على القيادة العليا لحركة حماس.

واستهدف الهجوم وفقا لبيان جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، أعضاء قيادة حماس وهم مسؤولون مباشرةً عن تنفيذ أحداث 7 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول وشن الحرب على إسرائيل.

وبين بيان جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي قبل الهجوم، أن إسرائيل اتخذت خطوات لتقليل الضرر الذي قد يلحق بالأشخاص غير المتورطين، بما في ذلك استخدام أسلحة دقيقة ومعلومات استخباراتية إضافية.
