حضر سمو الأمير فيصل بن الحسين، رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية انطلاق منافسات البطولة العربية المفتوحة الثالثة لصيد السمك التي تستضيفها مدينة العقبة بمشاركة عربية واسعة وبتنظيم من قبل الاتحاد الملكي للرياضات البحرية، بالتعاون مع منتجع تالا بيه، وبدعم من سلطة منطقة العقبة الاقتصادية الخاصة.

ورافق سموه في حضور المنافسات سمو الأمير عبدالله بن فيصل وسمو الأمير محمد بن فيصل.

ويشارك في البطولة العربية 9 فرق و38 صياداً من 5 دول عربية هي: الأردن، مصر، الكويت، البحرين، اليمن، إلى جانب فريق نسوي وفريق ناشئين من الاردن،.

وتعزز هذه المشاركة في البطولة من حضور الأردن على الساحة الرياضية البحرية، بالتزامن مع بطولة العقبة للصيد المحلي التي تقام على هامش البطولة العربية بمشاركة 26 فريقاً و118 صياداً، وسط أجواء بحرية حماسية ومنافسة مميزة على سواحل مدينة العقبة.
