أحبطت المنطقة العسكرية الشرقية، فجر الأحد، على واجهتها وضمن منطقة مسؤوليتها محاولة تهريب كمية من المواد المخدرة باستخدام بالونات موجهة بأجهزة بدائية الصنع، وتمكنت قوات حرس الحدود، بالتنسيق مع الأجهزة الأمنية وإدارة مكافحة المخدرات، من رصد البالونات وإسقاطها وضبط حمولتها داخل الأراضي الأردنية، وتم تحويل المضبوطات إلى الجهات المختصة لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة.
