ذكرت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية، فجر السبت، أن الجيش الإسرائيلي فقد الاتصال بأربعة من جنوده خلال اشتباكات عنيفة مع مقاتلين فلسطينيين في قطاع غزة.

وأشارت منصة "حدشوت عخشاف" إلى وجود مخاوف من أن يكون الجنود قد تعرضوا للأسر، بينما يواصل الجيش الإسرائيلي عمليات البحث عنهم.

وفي الأثناء، تحدثت تقارير عبرية أولية عن مقتل جنديين وإصابة 13 آخرين بجروح خطيرة خلال المواجهات، التي شهدت هجمات متزامنة وكمائن نفذها مقاتلون من حركة "حماس" في حيي الزيتون والصبرة بمدينة غزة، إضافة إلى مدينة خان يونس جنوبي القطاع.

ووفق مصادر عسكرية إسرائيلية، فقد فعّل الجيش ما يعرف بـ"بروتوكول هانيبال"، وهو الإجراء المتبع لمنع أسر الجنود في أرض المعركة.
