حث الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، أنطونيو غوتيريش، الليلة الماضية، المشاركين في الاتفاق النووي الإيراني ومجلس الأمن على مواصلة المفاوضات لإيجاد حل دبلوماسي يضمن الطابع السلمي للبرنامج النووي الإيراني ويحقق فوائد اقتصادية لشعب إيران.

وقال غوتيريش بعد أن أرسلت فرنسا والمملكة المتحدة وألمانيا رسالة مشتركة لمجلس الأمن بشأن القرار الدولي رقم 2231 الليلة الماضية، أنه و"خلال الثلاثين يوما القادمة، هناك نافذة من الفرص لتجنب أي تصعيد إضافي وإيجاد طريق يمهد للسلام"، مرحبا بأي جهود في هذا الاتجاه.

وأبرز غوتيريش "الضرورة الملحة لبذل كل الجهود لمنع تجدد الصراع العسكري"، داعيا إلى "إعطاء الأولوية للحوار لمعالجة القضايا المتعلقة ببرنامج إيران النووي وأمن المنطقة بشكل عام".
