قالت المديرة التنفيذية لبرنامج الأغذية العالمي سيندي ماكين الخميس، إن مساعدات غذائية إضافية تصل إلى قطاع غزة، لكنها لا تزال غير كافية بالمرة لمنع انتشار المجاعة.

وأضافت ماكين في مقابلة عبر الفيديو من القدس "تدخل كميات إضافية من الغذاء. نسير في الاتجاه الصحيح... لكنها لا تكفي للقيام بما يتعين علينا فعله لضمان ألا يعاني السكان من سوء التغذية والتضور جوعا".
