كشفت سبعة مصادر ووثائق، أن سوريا ستصدر أوراقا نقدية جديدة وتحذف صفرين من عملتها، في محاولة لاستعادة الثقة في الليرة التي انخفضت قيمتها بشدة.

وتهدف الخطوة إلى تعزيز الليرة السورية بعد انهيار قوتها الشرائية إلى مستويات لم يسبق لها مثيل في أعقاب صراع استمر 14 عاما وانتهى بالإطاحة بالرئيس بشار الأسد في كانون الأول.

وخسرت الليرة السورية أكثر من 99% من قيمتها منذ 2011، ووصل سعر الصرف الآن إلى حوالي 10 آلاف ليرة مقابل الدولار مقارنة مع 50 ليرة قبل الحرب.

وتسبب الانخفاض الحاد في قيمة العملة في زيادة صعوبة المعاملات اليومية والتحويلات المالية.
