قال متحدث باسم جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، إن الجيش سيزود سكان قطاع غزة بخيام ومعدات إيواء ابتداء من الأحد استعدادا لنقل السكان من مناطق القتال إلى جنوب القطاع.

وأضاف المتحدث أنه "سيتم نقل المعدات عن طريق معبر (كرم أبو سالم) بواسطة الأمم المتحدة ومنظمات الإغاثة الدولية بعد خضوعها لتفتيش دقيق من قبل أفراد سلطة المعابر البرية التابعة لوزارة" جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي.

وذكرت سلطات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي أنها تعتزم شن هجوم جديد للسيطرة على مدينة غزة.

ومن شأن السيطرة على المدينة التي يقطنها نحو مليون فلسطيني أن تُعقّد الجهود الرامية إلى وقف إطلاق النار لإنهاء الحرب المستمرة منذ ما يقرب من عامين.

وتسيطر قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بالفعل على قرابة 75% من قطاع غزة.
