دعت مسؤولة السياسة الخارجية في الاتحاد الأوروبي كايا كالاس الخميس إسرائيل إلى "التراجع" عن مواصلة مشروع لبناء وحدات استيطانية في الضفة الغربية المحتلة، يحظى بدعم وزير المال الإسرائيلي اليميني المتطرف بتسلئيل سموطريتش.

وقالت كالاس في بيان إن "قرار السلطات الإسرائيلية المضي قدما في مشروع E1 الاستيطاني يشكل تقويضا إضافيا لحل الدولتين وانتهاكا للقانون الدولي"، مضيفة أن "الاتحاد الأوروبي يحض اسرائيل على التراجع عن هذا القرار ويشير الى تداعياته الواسعة النطاق".
