قتل خمسة جنود السبت بانفجار أثناء "إزالة ذخائر" داخل منشأة عسكرية تابعة لحزب الله في جنوب لبنان، وفق ما أفاد مصدر عسكري وكالة فرانس برس.

أطلع الرئيس اللبناني جوزاف عون في اتصال أجراه مع قائد الجيش العماد رودلف هيكل على ملابسات "الحادثة الأليمة" التي أدّت إلى "سقوط عدد من الشهداء والجرحى العسكريين نتيجة انفجار ذخائر بوحدة من فوج الهندسة في الجيش في اثناء عمل أفرادها على سحبها وتعطيلها"، بحسب بيان صادر عن الرئاسة.
