بلغ متوسط الرسوم الجمركية الأميركية 20,1%، وهو الأعلى منذ مطلع العقد الثاني من القرن الماضي باستثناء زيادة استمرت مدة وجيزة في وقت سابق هذا العام، بعدما دخلت التعرفات الجديدة حيّز التطبيق الخميس.

ويتناقض المعدل الذي احتسبته منظمة التجارة العالمية وصندوق النقد الدولي مع معدل 2,4% الذي كان سائدا عندما تم تنصيب الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب في 20 كانون الثاني/يناير.
