قال وزير الخزانة الأميركي سكوت بيسنت في مقابلة مع شبكة فوكس نيوز الخميس، إن الرئيس دونالد ترامب يستخدم الرسوم الجمركية أداة للسياسة الخارجية من خلال فرض رسوم جمركية ثانوية على السلع الهندية بسبب شراء الهند للنفط الروسي.

وردا على سؤال بشأن ما إذا كانت الولايات المتحدة قد تفرض رسوما جمركية إضافية على السلع الصينية بسبب شراء بكين للنفط الروسي، قال بيسنت لبرنامج (تقرير خاص مع بريت باير) إن ترامب يبقي جميع الخيارات مفتوحة لوقف الحرب في أوكرانيا، وإن "الرسوم الجمركية على الصين قد تطرح على الطاولة في مرحلة ما".
