عقد مجلس الأمن الدولي الليلة جلسة بشأن الوضع في فلسطين المحتلة، استمع الأعضاء خلالها إلى إحاطة من نائب رئيس الشؤون السياسية بالأمم المتحدة، ميروسلاف ينتشا.

وأكد ينتشا عدم وجود حل عسكري للصراع في غزة أو الصراع الفلسطيني الإسرائيلي الأوسع، مشددا على أهمية إنشاء أطر عمل سياسية وأمنية تُخفف الكارثة الإنسانية في غزة وتبدأ التعافي وإعادة الإعمار، وتعالج المخاوف الأمنية للإسرائيليين والفلسطينيين.

وطالب المسؤول الأممي بإنهاء الاحتلال غير القانوني وتحقق حل الدولتين - إسرائيل ودولة فلسطينية مستقلة بالكامل وديمقراطية ومتصلة جغرافيا وقادرة على البقاء وذات سيادة، تكون غزة جزءا لا يتجزأ منها، تعيش جنبا إلى جنب في سلام وأمن داخل حدود آمنة ومعترف بها على أساس خطوط ما قبل 1967، وأن تكون القدس عاصمة للدولتين.
