أعلن رئيس الحكومة اللبنانية، نواف سلام، بعد اجتماع الحكومة، اليوم الثلاثاء، عن استكمال النقاش في الورقة الأميركية المتعلق بنزع سلاح حزب الله، وتحديد موعد لذلك، في جلسة حكومية ثانية تعقد الخميس المقبل.

وفي تصريح بعد انتهاء الجلسة التي عقدت برئاسة الرئيس اللبناني جوزاف عون، قال سلام: "تم تكليف الجيش بوضع خطة لحصر السلاح بحدود نهاية العام الحالي، وعرضها على مجلس الوزراء قبل 31 آب المقبل".

وقال: "بناء على البيان الوزاري للحكومة فإن الدولة اللبنانية تلتزم تنفيذ القرار الدولي 1701، مع تأكيد حق لبنان في الدفاع عن النفس في حال وجود أي اعتداء".
