أكد مكتب الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان في الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة أن تعمد قتل عمال الإغاثة يرقى إلى جرائم الحرب، مشددا على ضرورة إجراء تحقيق مستقل في جميع حالات قتل المدنيين في غزة.

وقال المكتب في بيان اليوم الاثنين، "إن جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي ضرب في الثالث من آب منشأة تابعة لجمعية الهلال الأحمر الفلسطيني، ما أدى إلى مقتل موظف وإصابة ثلاثة آخرين بجراح".

وأشار إلى مقتل 49 عضوا في الهلال الأحمر الفلسطيني و136 عاملا في الدفاع المدني، مشيرا الى أن "هؤلاء الأفراد يواصلون بذل الجهود المنقذة للحياة معرضين حياتهم للخطر".
