صرّح مصدر عسكري مسؤول في القيادة العامة للقوات المسلحة الأردنية – الجيش العربي، أن المنطقة العسكرية الشمالية، أحبطت اليوم الاثنين، محاولة تهريب كمية من المواد المخدرة بواسطة طائرة مسيرة (درون) على واجهتها الشمالية، وضمن منطقة مسؤوليتها.

وأضاف المصدر أن قوات حرس الحدود في المنطقة العسكرية الشمالية، قامت بعد رصد الطائرة ومتابعتها، مطبقة قواعد الاشتباك وإسقاط حمولتها داخل الأراضي الأردنية، وتم تحويل المضبوطات إلى الجهات المختصة.

وأكّد المصدر أن القوات المسلحة تعمل بكل قوة وحزم للحيلولة دون وصول هذه المواد المخدرة إلى أبناء الوطن والتأثير على الأمن الوطني.
