نددت عائلة رهينة إسرائيلي محتجز في قطاع غزة منذ العام 2023، باستخدامه من قبل حماس في حملة "دعائية"، وذلك بعدما نشرت الحركة مقطع فيديو له لليوم الثاني تواليا.

وقالت عائلة أفيتار دافيد البالغ 24 عاما إن "حماس تستخدم ابننا كتجربة حيّة في حملة تجويع دنيئة. التجويع المتعمد لابننا كجزء من حملة دعائية، هو من أفظع الأفعال التي شهدها العالم". وأتى البيان بعدما نشرت الحركة السبت مقطع فيديو جديدا يظهر فيه دافيد متعبا ونحيلا في نفق.
