قالت وزارة الخارجية الأميركية في بيان الخميس إن الولايات المتحدة فرضت عقوبات على مسؤولين بالسلطة الفلسطينية وأعضاء في منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية.

وجاء في البيان أن هذه الخطوة تمنع المستهدفين من الحصول على تأشيرات للسفر إلى الولايات المتحدة.

وأضاف البيان: "من مصلحتنا الأمنية الوطنية فرض عقوبات ومحاسبة منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية والسلطة الفلسطينية على عدم الوفاء بالتزاماتهما وتقويض آفاق السلام".
